Stemm's Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs in Diario del Puerto

The latest edition of Diario del Puerto, the specialized medium in information about the aerial, railway, maritime, and land sectors, dedicates space in its latest issue to the Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs by Stemm. Under the title "Stemm digitizes bulk handling with remote control of its Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs," they explain both machines' performance, functionality, and advantages in ports and maritime terminals.

Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs with international presence

For nearly four decades of work, projects have been carried out in different countries all around the world: the United States, India, Australia, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. All of them have some of Stemm's products. Clamshell grabs or Orange Peel Grabs that optimize loading and unloading at the port.

As they explain in the Diario del Puerto article, one of the functions of Clamshell Grabs within maritime terminals is to handle food, such as cereals, arriving at the port within bulk carrier vessels. For this example, Stemm offers differentiated solutions, considering aspects such as material density, workspace, or the necessary infrastructure for assembly.

R&D and innovation in the design and manufacturing of Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs

Stemm's products undergo constant improvements to ensure their effectiveness and optimization and to provide responses to customer needs. Not only that but services associated with the daily performance of each machine are also considered, such as the Grab Connect program for predictive maintenance and remote control of potential issues. This program allows details of the machine's performance to be known, such as pressures, temperatures, power consumption, number of maneuvers performed, etc., to minimize potential issues and their costs.

"Thanks to this information, the customer can establish all corrective or update operations so that when operations start, everything is fully controlled, minimizing the possibility of unforeseen events," explains Martin Amesti, Stemm's manager. In other words, before the vessels arrive, the diagnosis of the machines can be established, and relevant corrective or updating operations can be carried out for optimized loading and unloading without errors.

Stemm also offers services such as Renewal Service, through which the owners of Orange Peel Grabs and Clamshell Grabs can obtain refurbished equipment in optimal operating conditions, or the Test Bench, where each assembled machine undergoes a series of operations and maneuvers simulating real working conditions.
